The Tax on the Increase of Value of Urban Land (IIVTNU), known as “Plusvalia”, is being questioned in all its aspects. The Ministry of Justice already pronounced itself on the injustice of this tax for the sale of real estates with result of loss, but now they are the own City Councils the ones that are acting this regard.
Recently the City Council of Nerja has approved actions to reduce the payment of the Plusvalia in cases of inheritance. Last January, the City Council approved a 95% reduction on this tax, which is the maximum allowed by law.
Following the example of what already was approved in Rincon de la Victoria, the Nerja Consistory joins to the exclusive club of City Councils that reduce the tax burden in cases of inheritance, without previous conditions of residence registration or coexistence in the town, as required by many others consistories. In this small club at the moment are also in the province of Malaga cities like Ronda, which reduce an 80% to direct family, and Alhaurin de la Torre, with a reduction of 50%.
We hope that this is just the beginning and that more City Councils join to this for the benefit of the taxpayers.
